The updated 2005 version of Build
Your Own (BYO) OHS Management Plan is now available.
BYO includes information necessary for any
organisation that is building an OHS management system in order
to comply with the current legislation. It also contains some additional
material that might be useful to different organisations for specific
hazards and issues.
The BYO OHS management Plan is a package,
consisting of a manual and CD.

The STAR Check System
The Jim Knowles Group is offering
a new and cost effective health and safety self-audit tool, which
is delivering excellent results for our clients. The system is a
task assessment process and is called STAR Check. STAR is an acronym
for Safe Task Assessment and Review.

Did you know?
From 1 July 2007 all contractors in
NSW are required by law to have a Contractor Safety and Health
Management program. It will
also be a requirement from all of the major mining companies
that contractors health and safety programs meet an acceptable
standard.
As a result of this the Jim Knowles Group
and Mine Resilience Australia P/L have developed the content
th May of a on-line training course with the support of the
NSW Minerals Council, Coal Services Health and Safety Trust,
Australian Institute of Quarrying Education Foundation and
the University of Newcastle.
Major mining companies in Australia including
Centennial, Xstrata, Anglo, BHP, Hansons and Rocla have given
their support to this project.
